Colchester Junior Chess Club is created to encourage and help young people to play and learn chess in an enjoyable and safe environment. This will give young players an opportunity to make new chess-playing friends while being coach with their knowledge and skills in playing chess. The purpose of the Blog is to promote Colchester Junior Chess Club in Colchester and its surrounding areas and junior chess in Essex.

“The Junior Chess Club restarted in September and is very well run by Michael Catabay (and family). It’s a pleasant friendly club with children of all abilities, and I can see a number of the members have the potential ability of achieving a high level of play. The Xmas fun night of Duck Chess went off very smoothly, we all enjoyed ourselves, and the whole evening went very well with prizes for all. Hi Everyone! It was very nice to see most of you this afternoon and I would like to welcome our new members: Ethan Clarke, Dwayne Ramirez and Alexander Ramirez who is just 3yrs old, amazing. And just a few updates to mention. 1. Belated happy birthday to my wife Ella and to John, who has been consistently helping our juniors, both has celebrated their birthdays yesterday on a halloween. ... 2. The next Essex junior chess tournament will be held in Basildon on the 18th of November Sunday. Entry form can be downloaded through the website http://www.ejca.co.uk/ ( please feel free to ask me if you are unsure for your child to attend such level of compitition). 3.
